Lapwing in a field
I’ve wanted to take a photograph of a Lapwing like this, but not like this, for years. As I drive past the lines of seeded fields and see their lines disappearing into the distance I spot a Lapwing and lean my lens out of the car window.
Why do I wish it wasn’t like this? I’d like to be at eye level, lying in the field in full camouflage. I’d like to be nearer to the Lapwing. I’d like to have a lower perspective so I can get the background immediately behind the bird out of focus. I’d like to have worked at it and earned it.
Instead I just drove past and snapped.
