Do you have day and night there? I hope you don’t get chiggers!
The days are long – so long in Summer that you can read a newspaper outside at midnight and the sun rises and sets slowly at an angle. Chiggers? I hope not!
Only one woodlouse on the flannel this morning. I took my own advice and shook it off first.
Woodlice are very interesting.
I agree – they are crustaceans like crabs, they breathe through gills, there are over 40 species in the UK and some of them roll up into a ball and are impossible not to play with. My son’s first word was not mummy or daddy, but woodlouse.
When my nan was ill in hospital once, my mum collected a matchbox load and took them in for her. She was of course only a child. I like their armour (exoskeleton) and the fact that they are so nonaggressive, unlike ants, which are driving me mad!
