Song Thrush

I’ve just spent an hour trying to get a good photograph of a Song Thrush and failing miserably. It was deep in a hedge and despite my best attempts to walk on both sides, change my angle, go near, go far and wait patiently, it proved impossible.

I gave up.

I literally trudged home to the house of my friends where I’m chicken-sitting.

As I got back to their garden a Song Thrush was sitting high on a conifer in beautiful light.

It was singing its sweet and ridiculously repetitive song.

Thank you, Song Thrush, for putting a spring in my step.
