Lilac-Breasted Roller attack
Sometimes there’s such an extraordinary moment and it seems impossible that you could have captured it.

There’s a dispute between Lilac-Breasted Rollers. There’s a chase from tree to tree and there’s clearly a lot of anger. I’m trying to get a photograph of the bird in the nearest tree when I see another bird fly from a more distant tree and approach it at high speed. It dives, twisting upside down as it does so, and pecks the other Roller viciously on the side of its face near its eye.
My image captures it just as it makes contact.
Incredible.
