Cattle Egret portrait

I’ve seen Cattle Egrets in Devon, but never been as close as I am now to this Cattle Egret in Kenya.

I love its Heron-like eyes. Cattle Egrets are more closely related to Herons than they are to Little Egrets. They are stocky with a short, thick neck and a hunched posture.

I think the ticks and flies on the cattle here should be very afraid.
