The Long-Crested Eagle awaits us
I’m glad that I’ve learned never to turn my camera off or to put my lens hood on until I’m indoors. As my guide Johnson and I arrive back at the Governors’ Camp there’s a Long-Crested Eagle, Lophaetus occipitalis, perched just outside the gates.

I love the way the crest makes its face look even more threatening. As we stop it takes a long look at us and flies.
My guidebook says: “Blunt, broad wings; long, two-banded tail; white primary patches.”

What a fabulous experience again. Kenya on safari is a country which gives and gives again.
