Teeick
I’m grateful to a Hooded Crow for rousing this Lapwing into a frenzy of protest.

It’s been circling, complaining, and swooping at the offending bird for a few minutes now.

It’s clearly not happy and must have a chick or eggs in the nest.

In Orkney Lapwings are known as Teeicks, because of the sound they make. I’ve been given quite a demonstration the afternoon.
