Razorbill in spray
When I visit one of my favourite places on Westray I’m usually frustrated that the sun and wind are coming from opposite directions. That means the birds are flying with their backs to the sun and all my photographs are of faces in shadow. That’s different today. We have sun and wind from the same direction, so the birds are circling the cliffs in the opposite direction to usual and I can get photographs with bright beautiful light on their faces.
It’s a joy, especially when this Razorbill passes so close.
