A pied landscape
Out past the beach and the relative calm of the Bay of Swartmill is a shattered and splintered landscape of monochrome rocks and plants. There are white lichens and blackened mosses on grey rocks hugging every crevice for shelter from the elements. Here, the Pied Wagtail lives, in perfect harmony with this harsh environment of wind-bruised and sea-battered salty shoreline.
