The waterworks Buzzard
On a previous walk through the industrial estate I met a couple who said they’d seen a Buzzard at the waterworks on previous walks. It wasn’t there. I doubted them.
Today, as I walked past the classic piece of 1960s brutalist architecture and its overflow tanks, there it was.
What a beautiful bird. I’m behind a chain-link fence. I squash my lens close to the fence so it’s not visible in my photograph. There’s a backdrop of an industrial building.
It’s a clear but blustery day and it’s fun to watch it adjust its position to cope with the gusts of wind. When it takes off it sweeps through the air, driven by the wind.
The turns, lit beautifully by the sun.
I suspect it’s interested in the rats which congregate here. I wonder what my chances are of catching it in the act?
