Westray Connections 2017 – Taster Sessions around the Village #3
The Graand Owld Byre on Westray is a great venue for music in every respect apart from one. It has super acoustics, a nice height stage, good views, comfortable seats, a great backdrop of a painting of the Island and an incredibly welcoming host in Michael Harcus. What does it lack? The only thing missing is the perfect lighting for photography. Here are some rescued photographs from the grainy silhouettes I might have had if I hadn’t had to stretch my ingenuity to capture something of the pure magic of Wayward. What a class act they are.
As the great review of Westray Connections 2017 by Robert Leslie in The Orcadian says, “Another wow moment here as Ailsa Green raised the roof – and sent goose bumps up our arms – with her vocal performance on Beverley Knight’s Middle of Love.”
