Rapness Mill, a Puffin, a rainbow and the sunset

The Mill at Rapness is falling down.

And Sea Pinks grow on it:

And despite my love of rust and peeling paint, I’d hate to see such a magnificent building collapse further.

Walking past the Mill to the Castle o’ Burrian I can see a sneaky Puffin above:

I hadn’t realised that they nest inside the rocks of the cliffs as well as in earth burrows and abandoned rabbit burrows.

The weather turns, rain falls and an intense rainbow forms above the North Sea:

It’s been another memorable Westray evening.
