Peregrine Falcon

What a thrill to see a Peregrine Falcon flying over the cliffs in Torbay. Especially in such beautiful weather.

Peregrine Falcons are under threat from the illegal trade in birds taken from the wild and sold for profit for falconry in the Middle East. They’re also under threat from Natural England having legalised taking wild birds for this trade:

There are only 1,500 pairs of Peregrines in the UK.

I hadn’t realised the yellow skin surrounding the eyes is so large and so intense. It also matches their feet perfectly.
