There are apricot-yellow fingers of fungus growing in the short sward at Emsworthy Mire. Fabulous, aren’t they?
They are the eerie fruiting bodies of the Apricot Club Fungus, Clavulinopsis luteoalba.
They are saprobic, living on dead and decaying things, and an essential part of recycling nutrients for life to continue. I love them.
