Perching Linnet

I loved seeing this male Linnet perching on the wind-burnt twigs in the garden of Einar this summer. He’s a beautiful sight and makes a wonderful sound.

If a Linnet perches somewhere there’s a clear background, then there’s the opportunity of a flight-shot when it leaves. I just have to stay here with this massive camera, held in front of my unblinking eye as the camera seemingly gets heavier and heavier, for as long as it takes. It could be a while.

There it goes.

It’s flown off with a few other Linnets which passed overhead. Time for the blood to go back to my fingers and for my muscles to relax, until the next time.
