The mellow babble of the Hedge Chanter
There’s a Dunnock in the undergrowth. It looks so beautiful in this light.

It’s too busy searching for food amongst the russet leaves to give a performance of its mellow babble.

“Call me Winter Nightingale, Accentor of the Hedge, Shuffle-Wing and the Hedge Chanter of Mellow Babble”, I hear it say, as it hops away.
