Return to Challacombe Farm
I’ve been to Challacombe Farm before:
It’s teeming with animals for food and fun:
I popped back to see what was around and found myself scratching the head of a very cute ruminant and avoiding giant curious ponies attempting to eat my rucksack. There was plenty of activity from one of the UK’s most beautiful birds; the House Sparrow. Here’s a colourful male:
There was a Dunnock on a dunghill:
A shivering Swift with a rare glimpse of its feet came next:
It’s hard to imagine sleeping while flying but Swifts do it. I suspect they only sleep half a brain at a time:
There was a stunning perching Swallow:
And best of all, for me, a House Martin gathering mud for its nest.
It’s all action, here.
