Description
A three-colour papercut of Domenico Chiocchetti, the prisoner of war artist of Orkney’s Italian Chapel, depicted standing outside the Chapel with the Dove.
A three-colour, layered multi-dimensional papercut, using Windsor & Newton Lana and Daler Rowney Murano 160 gsm papers. Mounted on dense non-toxic foam board and fronted by a bevel-edged passe-partout mount in ivory white with a subtle texture. Image size: 20 x 20cm. Mount dimensions: 30 x 30cm, for easy framing. Signed, dated and titled on the mount.
Inspired by one of the most remarkable relics of prisoner of war art, Orkney’s Italian Chapel on the island of Lamb Holm.
Includes one of my favourite Domenico quotes, “Where I, in leaving, leave a part of my heart”.
With the kind permission of the Chiocchetti family.
