Common Tern feeding time

There’s been a Common Tern in Pierowall Bay for a while now. It loves to sit out in full view of the Pierowall Hotel and survey the entire bay.

Then it flies, plunges, and returns either despondent or triumphant.

Today it’s been joined by another, and the male is busy fishing for the female and feeding her.

Who needs chocolates and flowers when you have fresh fish?
