Shearwaters on the water

Having Manx Shearwaters around our coasts in South Devon at this time of year makes ever boat trip into Lyme Bay one of potential excitement.

Just look at this distant beauty:

The only time I was close enough for some action shots and excitement, the bird was in the wrong direction compared to the sun. That missing catch-light in the eye means everything to me.
