Buzzard over the garden

I’m currently chicken-sitting for my friends in Oxfordshire and enjoying an egg or two. Their enclosure is larger than my garden and they have a luxurious house with ample pecking room.

They are ready to greet me every morning at a time of my choosing. I don’t even have to let them out of their fox-proof enclosure because it’s automatically timed to open up at 6:40am.

The only mild stress they seem to face is if they see a Buzzard overhead. They scuttle with a exaggerated walk to hide under the bushes in their enclosure.

I wish that was all I had to worry about.

Here’s a Buzzard rising up from the trees opposite. Magnificent, aren’t they?
