Goldfinch in snow

There’s a slightly bedraggled Goldfinch in the snow. It’s been snowing lightly with gentle flakes so its plumage is wet. It’s also been foraging for food under the settled snow and has a damp head. The water defines the feathers perfectly.

It needs all the thermal protection it can today. So do I, my feet are freezing.
