Rook and Peregrine Falcon meet
There’s a Peregrine Flacon flying over the River Dart. The last time I saw one here it was ‘buzzing’ an Osprey with a close flyby.
This time it’s a Peregrine Falcon with a Rook in close attendance.

Corvids have an uneasy relationship with Raptors and will frequently mob them. They do this instinctively and just can’t help themselves. And as I’ve mentioned here previously, it only takes one Corvid to form a mob. Peregrines must get used to it, but still find the constant harassment a pain, just like me being surrounded by wasps.
This one was clearly irritated and took evasive action, as well as turning upside down in mid-air with its claws out and beak ready to defend itself from any attack.

What a spectacular thing to witness.
