Rough grazing

Wind and weather conspire together to make Westray’s grass rough and tough. That’s essential for the ponies in my field. When the grazing becomes too rich from new green shoots they’re at risk of laminitis, a nasty disease which makes them lame. Lush pastures? Rough grazing is what they need.
