Symmetry
There’s something deeply appealing about the symmetry of these Dalmatian Pelicans.

There’s also something worrying about them begging for fish thrown into the air for them from a boat.
It’s one of the many ethical dilemmas in wildlife ‘management’ that extends to wildlife photography. How much should we intervene to attract species? In this case, the reason so many pelicans can survive here is the artificial feeding from tourists.
I’m part of a system that causes this unnatural behaviour.
It’s a stunning wildlife spectacle and I’m thrilled to have witnessed it.

I love them and want other people to treasure them too.
