Nutcracker nutcracker

You can probably tell how much I’ve been enjoying seeing these Northern Nutcrackers. Aren’t they lovely?

The scientific name for the Northern Nutcracker is Nucifraga caryocatactes. Nucifraga is Neo-Latin for nutcracker and caryocatactes is based on the Greek for nutcracker.
Nutcrackers; so good they named them twice.
