Broad wings, short tail, forked tongue
The wings of the Northern Nutcracker are broad, very much like a Jay. Their tails are short and their beaks sharply pointed

The tongue of the Northern Nutcracker is also special. The tip of the tongue is forked with two long pointed tips which are hardened with nail-like ends. Northern Nutcrackers eat pine nuts and their tongues are probably an adaptation to extracting and de-shelling pine nuts from pine cones.
I tried, and tried, and tried, but didn’t manage to get a photo of one of them with their tongue showing.

I wasn’t too disappointed.
