Sanderling and seaweed
There are Sanderling heading in to feast on the invertebrates left by the retreating tide on Taftend.

There is a flock of Sanderling mixed with the occasional Turnstone in among the dark orange seaweed which has accumulated at the end of the beach.

They’re fossicking for morsels in amongst the small seawater pools and in the seaweed on the shore.

Occasionally the waves defeat them and they have to flit and fly.

What beautiful birds.
