A tracery of droplets
A visit to Chard Reservoir is always a welcome trip. I’m here because my son and his partner are using it as the starting point for their long run today, so I’ve got an hour or so to enjoy myself with the wildlife.
The reservoir has an assortment of Great Crested Grebes, Mallards and Coots with the occasional skulking Moorhen added to the mixture. There are also a handfull of Great Cormorants fishing and this one caught my eye as it soared over the water and landed with a splash. I love the tracery of droplets from its primary wing feathers.

And the wavy reflection of the striped wing feathers is also a delight. Nature gives all the best experiences.
