Fossil on the beach at Lyme Regis

There’s what I suspect is a huge fossil Ammonite on the beach at Lyme Regis. It’s the size of a car wheel. I’m sure someone will come and take it home with them, although it’ll take a lot of effort to do so.

Ammonites all died out with the dinosaurs and, despite there being millions of fossils of them from 200 million to 65 million years ago, there’s so far been no trace of what we think were their eight arms.

Eight arms would also be the number needed to carry it, unless the world’s strongest man is handy.
