HMS Medway is off Dartmouth after its latest mechanical problems and the indignity of being towed back to the dockyard in Gibraltar after its recent refit and maintenance.

It’s usually engaged in counter-terrorism, counter-piracy and anti-smuggling operations in the Caribbean or sovereignty guardianship in the Falklands or even disaster relief in hurricane season. It’s also saved sailors from a sinking tugboat.

Let’s hope it has no more mechanical problems.
