Red-Breasted Flycatcher
I receive a message on a WhatsApp group; there’s a Red-Breasted Flycatcher in Brixham. I’m not a twitcher, but being bird-curious, I’d like to see it.
It’s a little stunner:

It’s fast moving, obscured by branches, and the light is fast fading, but I can see it for long enough to understand its habits.

It’s very reminiscent of other flycatchers I’ve seen. Here’s a Pied Flycatcher:
And here’s a Spotted Flycatcher:
Maybe I’ll become a twitcher after all, and answer the call when a few other rarities come flying past on their way to somewhere else. If I do, you’ll be the first to know.
