Diving Arctic Tern

Arctic Tern - The Hall of Einar - photograph (c) David Bailey (not the)

Something I enjoyed this summer was taking multiple exposures of some of the bird species on Westray and creating composite images from them.

It’s amazing how taking 20 images a second can change your impression of the lives of Arctic Terns. They live at a different pace from humans. I particularly like the opening of the beak just before entry into the water.
