A diving Arctic Tern

Evolution by natural selection has resulted in the most incredible diversity of life on Earth. One of the standout examples in my limited experience of that diversity is the Arctic Tern. Being faced with an epic migration, taking in the journey from north to south and back again in a life of nearly unending light, and fishing in all weathers despite weighing 100 grammes… well, it’s a marvel of nature.

I hope my image conveys some of that marvel.
