Hare today
I’m scanning the fields at RSPB Otmoor for a Crane. There’s been one reported here and I’d love to see it. Scattered over the fields I can see the occasional crusty cow-pat. I think it’s odd, as there are no cattle here.
Then one sits up and I realise they are sleeping Hares and not crusty cow-pats at all. This one doesn’t seen very happy to be waking up.

It gets to work eating, while remaining wary.

When it rises and stretches I can empathise with it.

I ache after standing here holding this camera for ages.
I saw the Crane, but too far away for a photograph. Maybe tomorrow.
