Have you ever looked at a photograph and seen something in it which you didn’t see at the time you took it? I do it all the time. There’s too much going on in front of our eyes in real life to process it all consciously. We do see it all, but only a small amount filters through, otherwise sensory overload would drive you mad.

This Raven is surprisingly close. Thousands of years of persecution and ignorant superstition have meant the only Ravens left are the ones which give humans a wide berth.

As for the thing which I didn’t notice? Have you seen how the apex stone is balanced on a ledge of mortar as the wall below it has subsided? Surely it’s headed for a fall?

As are we, if we continue to persecute wildlife.
