Juvenile Robin and adult bath time
Robins are one of my favourite birds. I don’t care about seeing rarities, or collecting a large list of species, like other birders do. I’d rather spend quality time with an individual bird and get to know its habits and understand its behaviour.
Sadly I’ve only got a morning to get to know this little character. One of its parents is here, too:
It’s been splashing in a puddle just out of sight and is now drip-drying. It looks fabulous in this light, if a little damp.
I’m sorry to have to leave them.
