Cattle Egret

I’ve seen Cattle Egrets, Bubulcus ibis, before, on a trip to Italy. That was in the summer. Here’s my experience:

I’m in Italy again when I see one fly over and realised they’re in a cattle field nearby. I’m kept back by barbed wire and skittish cattle with large horns.

They’re winter visitors to South Devon, so I’m hopeful of seeing one again soon. Let’s hope!
