Two little Twite, sitting on a wall

I’ve spent this week honouring Twite, a wonderful, curious, much-overlooked bird. Twite live in weedy fields and moorland, or at least they would if England had enough weedy fields left. We now have to deliberately plant the ‘weeds’ whose seeds they rely upon.

It’s been a pleasure to spend time with them. I hope you’ve enjoyed an insight into their lives.

I look forward to being in Orkney and seeing them again soon.
