It’s taken 500 million years of wind and rain and pounding waves to sculpt these exceptional forms:

The position of the rocks, above cliffs with sea below is breathtaking:

They perch in the most surreal way:

They are massive, yet delicate:

They seem made of softer material, yet are granite:

They endure.

Kangaroo Island’s wildlife and nature have taken many thousands of years to develop in a unique way. Kangaroo Island has seen a devastating bushfire, burning out of control. Its farming and its tourism have been significantly destroyed. Please consider donating to help the people help the wildlife, particularly the tiny, curious Dunnart.
The Remarkable Rocks will endure. The remarkable people and the remarkable wildlife of Kangaroo Island need urgent help.
The Endangered Kangaroo Island Dunnart is an endemic marsupial, found only within remnant bushland of the Island’s west end. Its entire habitat has been burnt. All known monitoring sites have been burnt. The species may now be on the very brink of extinction.
Please help save Kangaroo Island’s Dunnart – one of Australia’s rarest marsupials. Donate to:
