The Stonechat family of Trendlebere Down #4

It’s a glorious day on Dartmoor.

My favourite little characters are busy feeding and avoiding death by predator:

This family of Stonechats are very endearing:

The males have distinctive orange breasts, a white collar and a lovely black head:

They are very tricky to photograph. Either the white collar is completely ‘blown-out’ or the black is as black as black can be:

Sitting in this Gorse bush is worth every moment.

This male has a small tick underneath his eye. It’s making me itch at the thought. I glance down at the bush I’m in and wonder if something’s biting me.
