Egrets

Great White Egrets are impressive birds. They are huge:

I love the way the wing tips of this one are just touching the surface of the water.

They are the most bizarre mixture of ungainly and beautiful, especially when they get interested in one another:

The lake is also home to many Little Egrets:

The Great White Egrets have black feet and yellow beaks. The Little Egrets have yellow feet and black beaks:

The clearest difference between them is their size. Here’s a dainty Little Egret coming in to land:

And here’s a great lumbering Great White Egret:
