Little Footy Arse

I love Little Grebes. They are so tiny and so buoyant. Whenever they resurface after a dive, they always surface like a yellow plastic bath duck; a little too quickly and exuberantly to maintain their dignity:

Their Orcadian name ‘Little Footy Arse’ suits them perfectly:

They have bodies which look half as long as they should be and feet right at the very back.
