Declining Kittiwakes
The weather is dramatic and so are the Kittiwakes calling below:

They are such refined and elegant birds.
Their families are growing on small ledges at Noup Head on Westray in Orkney:

In Newcastle upon Tyne anti-bird netting has caught many of the chicks on commercial buildings and doomed them to a lingering death. Here they are free from netting, but just as badly affected by pollution and overfishing.

I hope future generations of people will get the same thrill that I do from seeing them successfully produce their next generation.
