Sea Rocket

Sea Rocket covers the top of many beaches on Westray. Cakile maritima has either white or a pinky-lilac shade of flowers.

It has massive tap roots deep into the sand to anchor it and manages to stabilise the sand because of them.

I still haven’t tried eating it.
