Treecreeper

Treecreepers are one of those common but hardly seen species of birds; they take being elusive to another level. Seeing them from a distance it looks like there’s a mouse climbing a tree in a slow spiral until you see them fly off to the base of the next tree and begin their ascent again. I love their disruptive camouflage, their tough, stiff tails for support while climbing and their gently curved probing beaks. What a stunning bird.
