This afternoon I cycled down to the Castle o’ Burrian. The wind was against me. The wind is always against me. I don’t have a decent telephoto lens; it’s one of those things that have been on my wish list. If I’m going to photograph puffins I’m going to have to get up close and personal with them.

Puffins at the Castle o’ Burrian – Westray is so full of smelly fish-eating birds that some times of the year you can’t walk for fear of treading on one of them. It’s like some ridiculous circus.
