Noup Head Panorama
Noup Head is my destination by bicycle today, as it was yesterday. The crushed stone path is so rough that my bicycle bell rings without me touching it and cattle grids come as a relief. The triangulation point says 76 metres at the top of the cliffs. It feels like more.
The lighthouse was built in 1898 and finally automated in 1964 and keeps shipping safe at the far north-west of the Island. It has a massive beautiful crystal Fresnel lens mounted on brass.
