Sabine’s Gull
I rely on Mike Langman’s trained eyes every time we go out on a boat trip with him. He has gull superpowers. He’s the one who spots a Sabine’s Gull. I’m delighted to catch which one it is from the large flock of birds in front of us.

Sabine’s Gulls breed all around the Arctic and migrate to the Southern Hemisphere in the autumn. That’s quite some effort, covering up to 32,000–39,000 km per year.
There’s a little bit of a Kittiwake look to them.

It’s only 8 million years since Sabine’s Gulls and Kittiwakes were the same species.
Evolutionary time boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
