Wheatears full of character
Wheatear know how to strike a pose.

Northern Wheatear, Oenanthe oenanthe, are small yet very powerful birds. They have been stunningly successful in spreading right across the Northern Hemisphere and yet they all return to their ancestral homeland in Africa, no matter how long or how inconvenient the journey from their new northern homes.

They’re bouncing across the rocks feeding on invertebrates in preparation for their epic migration. I wish this one well.
